Jeedi Mara Bus Stop

If you have traveled in BMTC Bus on Bannerghatta road, you would find a bus stop named Jeedi Mara Bus stop. It is junction of Ring road and Bannerghatta road next to Shoppers Stop Bus stop towards IIMB. Ever wondered why it is named so ? Even if you know Kannada, the use of Jeedi Mara is now very occasional. If you are an urbanite, chances are that you do not know what it means excpet that it is name of a tree. I got curious and went asking around about what it is. I didn't have to venture out ;) just asked folks at my home. Turns out Jeedi Mara is nothing but Cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale). Indeed, there was a big Jeedi Mara close to the new mall that is coming up on the junction. Alas, it isn't there any more. But it has lent such a beautiful name to one of the bus stops in Bangalore. It is better than Shoppers Stop Bus stop (Now repeat that twenty times :) )

Social Style

Can you fit an individual into a Social style ? One of Control, Analyzer, Socializer and Supporter. Do people exhibit consistent behavior conforming to their social style across situations? I think we are too complex to be generalized to have a single social style. I guess we all have the four social styles in us but one of them manifests dominantly whereas others are invoked depending on the situation. I may be a supporter most of the times but given an extraordinary situation I may have to turn into a Controller kind of person. Some people may even try to pretend be of a social style which they generally are not. However I believe this tool can be used to learn more about oneself, something about yourself that you may not have discovered so far. Or you may have known it but it was in back of your mind and suddenly comes to the fore. This tool should be taken as an aid to introspect and learn about yourself than as a silver bullet that tries to solve your behavioural problems.

Eye floaters

As I had prophesied, I am back with one more 'I am back' posts but this time I am writing something. 

Ever wondered what those specks are which move in front of your eyes, move when move your eyeballs. Those specks looked like some bacteria or some micro organism viewed under a microscope and which you drew in your biology exam grudgingly. When I was a kid, I used to think that my eyes have got microscopic power and what I see is indeed bacteria. Alas, I didn't have any such power, they were nothing but eye floaters.They are nothing but deposits in the eye's vitreous humour. (Wonder why they call it humour :), something funny eh ? I am back

I am back after one and a half years. Seems like this blog is going to be full of 'I am back' posts.

Terror!!

This is based on a real Incident

The worst part of engineering is the exams.H,N,J gave their first exams of engineering,they had the sudden sense of freedom, decided to go to a movie.They reached the theatre well before the show time.After the exams all they wanted to do was watch a movie.Movie turned them blind towards time sense.Killing time is very easy for adolescents.They were in the queue for the ticket,when they see this evil man.This evil man had terrorized them so much before the exams. The sheer sight of the villain made them abandon all their plans, quickly left the queue.They hurried towards the basement.When the people started moving into the theatre after fifteen minutes, they could muster an ounce of courage to come out of basement and run towards the college.

A few months later H,J,N were all friends with the evil man.A year later H was the Terror- The New Evil Man
